Since its establishment in 2019, Joyful Art has been dedicated to curating rigorous, sincere, pure, and profoundly rich artworks, striving to make art an integral part of daily life. Our new venue remains on Huanhe North Road in Dadaocheng, and we are inaugurating the space with the opening exhibition “Hidden Joys Art Soirée.”
“Art Soirée” highlights the diversity, richness, and boundless nature of art. Truly exceptional artistic creations are not only a feast for the eyes but also an interaction of the soul and mind, forming a magical resonance between the creator and the audience. Meanwhile, “Hidden Joys” presents a curated selection of photography, calligraphy, and painting collections, showcasing the unique charm and depth of art through various mediums.

Dong Zuobin (1895–1963), courtesy name Yantang, was a renowned Chinese archaeologist, historian, and paleographer from Nanyang, Henan. He was one of the pioneers in the study of oracle bone script from the Ruins of Yin and made significant contributions to the history of the Shang Dynasty, oracle bone decipherment, and chronological research.
Born in 1951 in Guangdong, China, Fung Ming-Chiu grew up in Hong Kong and later lived in the United States and Taiwan with his family before settling in Hong Kong. A self-taught artist, Fung excels not only in calligraphy and seal engraving but also in prose, fiction, and poetry. He began practicing seal engraving in 1975 and has deeply explored traditional calligraphy, drawing inspiration from Abstract Expressionism.
Through bold experiments with stroke, structure, and materials, Fung investigates the visual and conceptual possibilities of written characters, pushing the boundaries of ink art while maintaining deep respect for tradition.
Born in 1987 in Chiayi, Taiwan, Chen Yen-Cheng holds a Master’s degree in Ink Painting from the Graduate Institute of Fine Arts at Chang Jung Christian University. He is currently a part-time lecturer in the Department of Calligraphy and Painting Arts at Chang Jung Christian University and the Department of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Technology.
Chen has received numerous awards and recognitions, including selection for the 2007 Tainan City Art Exhibition (Oriental Media Category), 2007 Nanying Art Exhibition (Ink Painting Category), and 2007 National Student Art Exhibition (Ink Painting Category). He was also awarded Honorable Mention in the 35th National Youth Calligraphy and Painting Competition (Chinese Painting – Social Group), Excellence Award in the 2008 Tainan City Art Exhibition (Oriental Media Category), the Chimei Award in the 2008 Tainan Fine Arts Association Exhibition (Chinese Painting Category), and Excellence Award in the 10th Huang Xi Art Exhibition (Ink and Pigment Painting Category). In 2010, he was awarded the Fu Chuan-fu Ink Painting Excellence Scholarship from the National Museum of History, and in 2011, he won First Prize in the Tainan City Art Exhibition (Ink Painting Category).
Born in 1986 in Chengdu, Sichuan, Guo Dian graduated from the Graphic Arts Department of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu Institute, in 2009. He currently lives and works between Chengdu and the United States. His works have been exhibited in various cities, including Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore. With a unique perspective and style, Guo Dian explores diverse themes of contemporary society, demonstrating profound artistic insight.
Born in 1976 in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, Mayumi Oshima graduated from the Department of Painting, Japanese Painting Program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2002. She completed her master’s degree in Japanese painting at the university’s graduate school in 2004 and obtained a doctoral degree in 2007. She currently resides in the United States, continuing her artistic practice. Skilled in utilizing various traditional Japanese painting materials, her works often explore the relationship between mythology and the natural world.
Subali Ismahasan, a Bunun artist, was born in 1992 in the Nangisarʉ tribe, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Graduated from National Dong Hwa University with a degree in Ethnic Relations and Cultural Studies. In 2009, Typhoon Morakot took the lives of his father and loved ones, devastating most of his tribe and profoundly shaping his life and artistic journey.
In his artistic practice, Subali employs delicate and intricate techniques to transform the pain, emotions, and reflections of life into visual elements, creating an astonishing sense of visual tension. He was awarded the Excellence Prize in the “A Century’s Gaze” National Student Indigenous Taiwanese Poster Competition in 2009 and the Makapah Art Award Honorable Mention in 2015.
Subali believes that artistic creation is the best way to prove his existence—through his works, he shares emotions and conveys the energy of joy.
Lin Shu-Kai was born in 1983 in Tainan, Taiwan. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2007 and obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the same institution in 2012. Lin’s artistic practice primarily focuses on two-dimensional painting and spatial installations, deeply influenced by his family’s traditional foundry. He often incorporates wooden casting molds left behind by the factory as creative elements, exploring the intersection of urban civilization and personal memory.
His works have been exhibited both domestically and internationally, including at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, the National Asian Culture Complex in Korea, and the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art in Japan. He has also participated in artist residency programs and exhibitions in Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, and Thailand.
By integrating personal experiences with urban imagery, Lin’s creations present profound reflections on tradition and the future, as well as memory and reality, offering viewers a unique visual experience and space for contemplation.
Chen Yi-Feng was born in 1985 in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2009 and obtained a Master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University in 2013.
Chen focuses on the depiction of white cloth as his primary subject matter, using a contemporary perspective to respond to tradition. By elevating white cloth from a supporting element to the central focus of his compositions, he creates a sense of purity through structured visual arrangements. Through this minimalistic approach, he seeks to guide viewers back to the fundamental essence of appreciating paintings.
Katsumi Tamada (1927–2007) was born in Osaka and graduated from Kyoto University. In 1952, he founded the Nichi-Futsu Gallery and managed it as an art dealer for 28 years. He also served as the head of the Kansai branch of the Hakujitsu Art Association.
Born in 1945 in Luohe, Henan, Zuo Guo shun is a Chinese oil painter who has won awards such as the First Prize at the National Railway Art Exhibition in China. He also served as the chairman of the Zhengzhou Artists Association.
Zuo’s works primarily depict northern Chinese landscapes, labor scenes, and historical themes, characterized by strong regional features and deep humanistic concerns.

Huang Cheng-Yuan was born in 1968 in Cigu District, Tainan, Taiwan. He graduated from the Western Painting Division of the National Taiwan Academy of Arts in 1991. In 1997, he won the 9th Chimei Art Award and later pursued further studies at Fontbonne University in Missouri, USA, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 1998.
Huang’s works integrate modern abstract painting with traditional ink aesthetics, transforming the rhythm of natural landscapes into lines and color blocks, showcasing the diversity of life. His creations are deeply influenced by the natural environment of his hometown in Tainan, reflecting a profound connection to the land. Through lines and colors, he explores the relationship between humans and nature, presenting a unique artistic style. He has held solo exhibitions in Shanghai, Taipei, and other cities and participated in Artexpo New York, where he was honored with the Award of Excellence in both 2018 and 2019.
其早期畫風受印象派影響,以抒情寫生為主,融合法國畫家莫內、梵谷與波納爾等人的用色與光影技法,畫風清新自然。攻讀碩士期間研究老莊哲學,並撰寫《莊子思想之美學意義》,自此創作風格逐漸深化。1990年代後期,她開始發展帶有主觀心靈意象的「黑桌靜物」系列,以花卉、器皿與木質家具構築靜謐空間,後續更以自身居所為題材,創作「老院子」系列。
Dong Shaw-hwei was born in 1962 in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University in 1984 and obtained a master’s degree from the university’s Graduate Institute of Fine Arts in 1992. Beginning in 1993, she traveled across Europe for plein air painting, and from 1994 to 2007, she frequently resided in Germany, where she held solo exhibitions and published art collections.
Her early work was influenced by Impressionism, focusing on lyrical landscape painting. She incorporated the use of color and light techniques from Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, and Pierre Bonnard, resulting in a fresh and natural style. During her graduate studies, she explored Daoist philosophy and authored “The Aesthetic Meaning of Zhuangzi’s Thought”, which deepened her artistic expression. In the late 1990s, her style evolved towards a more subjective and introspective approach, leading to the development of the “Still Life of Black Table Series”, where she used flowers, vessels, and wooden furniture to create tranquil spaces. She later drew inspiration from her own residence, developing the “Courtyard in Black and White Series”.

Tan Thomas was born in 1955 in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University in 1983 and obtained a master’s degree in Advertising Design from the City College of New York (CCNY) in 1989. He founded Dongli Gallery and has worked as an art director and creative director for various advertising and design companies. In 2006, he moved to Shanghai to deepen his understanding of traditional Eastern aesthetics.
Tan specializes in a realistic painting style, characterized by meticulous brushwork and precise composition, blending academic techniques with modern design sensibilities. He employs Western media to express the warmth and simplicity of Eastern culture, creating poetic and atmospheric landscapes. His works feature rich layers—up close, his brushstrokes appear ethereal, while from a distance, they form harmonious scenes, embodying an artistic realm where nature and self become one.
Huang Tzu-Chin was born in 1970 in Tainan, Taiwan, and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and Crafts at the National Taiwan University of Arts. He is engaged in book design and visual arts, specializing in Taiwanese pop-style collages, three-dimensional memory installations, and graphic design. His works integrate historical memory with contemporary perspectives, exploring the possibilities of cultural hybridity and folk aesthetics.
He enjoys visiting flea markets and second-hand bookstores and has a deep interest in folk culture, social customs, history, the fusion of pop and classical elements, and the coexistence of high and low art. Actively involved in design field research, he seeks to establish his own creative language and development path within the intersection of globalization and localization.
因祖母為灣生,橋本仁以「灣生」為主題創作及田調,致力於在臺灣從事藝術活動,2017、2019、2023年,在臺灣以藝術駐村方式進行了長時期的創作生活,以「存在與記憶時間與蓄積」為主題,運用木材和鐵等素材創作。
Born in 1984 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, Jin Hashimoto obtained his master’s degree in metalwork from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2014. He has received several prestigious awards, including the 2012 Ataka Prize and the Grand Prize at the 11th Tagboat Award. His university graduation work, which was honored with the Governor of Tokyo Award, was displayed at Ueno Onshi Park in Tokyo from 2011 to 2014.
Due to his grandmother’s connection as a Wansei (Japanese born in Taiwan during the colonial period), Hashimoto has been deeply engaged in artistic creation and field research centered around this theme. He has been actively involved in Taiwan’s art scene, undertaking long-term artist residencies in 2017, 2019, and 2023. His works explore themes of “existence and memory, time and accumulation,” utilizing materials such as wood and iron to express these concepts.

Si Yang (Original Name: Song Song) is an independent musician, songwriter, and visual documentarian. Born in Beijing in 1968 under the sign of Aries, he holds a bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature and a master’s degree in Business Administration from France.
His life experiences are diverse—he once fished in Africa and sold shrimp in Paris. Professionally, he serves as a representative for a French company in Beijing, while his passions lie in music, photography, and travel. His work focuses on themes of humanity, society, and everyday life, with a style that is sincere, natural, and warm.
Major original music works include: Sravasti (music album), The perfect man.
He is also a guitarist and vocalist for the XIAN.
